As part of Mastercard’s In Solidarity commitment with Los Angeles, which aims to close the wealth and opportunity gap for Black communities, Mastercard and Master Your Card partnered with the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) to host a Financial Literacy Fair at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College on September 24, 2021. During the event, Master Your Card experts and partners delivered financial education workshops and an informational session about the fee-free Angeleno Connect banking service platform. The workshops provided key information about Electronic Payments, “Mastering your Financial Mindset” and Building Financial Foundations and Entrepreneurship. Over two thousand LACCD students, families and other community members attended the day-long event. Guest speakers included facilitators from World of Money, EVERFI and NFTE (Network for Teaching and Entrepreneurship). Attention Los Angeles Community and LACCD Students For those that were unable to attend the event, we have a selection of financial literacy resources from Master Your Card and its participating partners, to make available to you a place to access tools and resources to foster your financial independence. Remember, anyone can still apply for the Angeleno Connect Bank account. The first 2,500 students that register with their LACCD email, will be eligible to receive the $100 student incentive. These resources are for students of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds regardless of immigration status.
